High school boys basketball; Minden, Doyline cruise to district victories

The Minden Crimson Tide and Doyline Panthers cruised to home district victories Tuesday night.

Minden defeated Northwood 66-42. Doyline downed Weston 73-54.

Minden improved to 19-3 overall and 5-1 in district. Bossier (14-11, 6-0), which defeated Woodlawn 64-57 at Woodlawn, leads the district.

Minden closes district play Friday at Southwood. Bossier hosts North DeSoto.

Darnell Morris led seven Minden players who scored with 18 points. Jaiden Franklin had 11 and Christian Lofton nine.

The Tide led 28-18 at the half and 41-33 after three quarters. They turned the game into a blowout in the fourth, outscoring the Falcons 25-9.

Northwood dropped to 9-19 and 3-3.

At Doyline, the Panthers improved to 21-6 overall and 3-3 in District 1-B.

Doyline visits Castor Thursday.

In a District 3-2A game, Lakeside fell to Winnfield 73-57 at Lakeside. The Warriors close out their season Thursday at Red River.
