The Webster Parish School Board recognized two educators as Employees of the Month during its regular meeting on February 3. The awards, presented by Kevin Thompson of Taylor and Sons, honored Victoria Young and Tina Wilkins for their dedication and commitment to students.
Young, a teacher at North Webster Upper Elementary School, was named the January Employee of the Month. Her recommendation letter highlighted her dedication to students’ growth and her willingness to embrace new learning materials and technology.
“Victoria Young is a dedicated member of North Webster Upper Elementary staff. She influences her students’ values and character to enhance learning,” the letter read. “She cares about all of her students and the faculty and staff she works with. She is always learning new material and technology to remain confident in her position.”
Wilkins, a teacher at J.L. Jones Elementary School, received the February Employee of the Month award. Her nomination recognized her commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing individualized support to students.
“Mrs. Wilkins embodies the very best at what it means to support and inspire her students,” the letter stated. “Mrs. Wilkins has demonstrated a commitment to fostering an environment where every student — regardless of ability — feels seen, is valued, and appreciated. She goes above and beyond, adapting plans to meet her students’ diverse needs.”
Ms. Young was unable to attend the meeting due to illness, so a photo was not available.
