The Minden Crimson Tide closed the regular season with a 60-46 victory over the Benton Tigers Wednesday night at Benton.
According to GeauxPreps.com, Minden (21-3) is No. 2 in the non-select Division II power rankings. The regular season officially ends Saturday.
The top four teams in the final official rankings receive byes in the first round of the playoffs. Pairings will be announced Feb. 25 with most first-round games played Friday, Feb. 28.
Minden’s next game likely will be a second-round home game on March 4.
At Benton, Cameron Parker led the Tide with 22 points. Darnell Morris added 12 and Carmelo Smith 11.
Minden trailed trailed 23-18 after the first quarter. Both teams cooled off in the second, but the Tide went into halftime with a 29-28 lead.
Minden began to pull away in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 19-10. Morris and Parker scored seven points each.
Maddox Martinez led Benton (9-16) with 16 points.
Doyline is the only other Webster Parish team that will make the playoffs.
The Panthers (22-7) are No. 12 in the Class B power rankings and will host a first-round game.
Doyline closes the regular season at home against Georgetown Friday.
North Webster closed its season Thursday at home against Southwood. Glenbrook and Lakeside have completed their seasons.
