High school boys basketball: Minden, Doyline receive byes in the first round of the playoffs

Minden will go into the non-select Division II playoffs as the No. 2 seed.

Official first-round pairings were announced Monday. 

The Crimson Tide (21-3) will host the winner between No. 15 Beau Chene (15-17) and No. 18 West Feliciana (20-11) in the second round next week.

Doyline (22-8) is one of 12 teams in the 20-team Class B bracket that received a first-round bye. The Panthers (30-8) will visit No. 5 Hicks in the second round.

Classes B and C are no longer divided between select and non-select schools. Doyline was in non-select Division V the last two seasons.
