High school baseball: Doyline, North Webster roll to victories

The Doyline Panthers and North Webster Knights cruised to victories Tuesday.

Doyline defeated Mansfield 16-1 in three innings at Doyline. North Webster defeated Castor 16-1 at North Webster.

Elsewhere, Minden fell to defending non-select Division IV state champion Oak Grove 9-1 at Oak Grove.

At Doyline, Noah Spears went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Zach Normand went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI. Kenneth Anderson went 3-for-3 with four RBI.

Dario Galvez went 1 2/3 innings for the win.

Doyline (3-0) plays Haynesville at 4:30 p.m. and Simsboro 7:30 on Thursday in the Simsboro Invitational.

At Oak Grove, Minden had four hits through six innings. The Tide had four consecutive singles in the seventh when they scored scored their only run. Minden left eight runners on base in the game.

Landyn Huddleston went 3-for-4 with a double. Bryson Ranger went 2-for-3. Bray Winston went 2-for-4.

Minden (3-4) hosts Airline Thursday at 7. The game is part of Lakeside’s Bistineau Classic.

At North Webster, the Knights improved to 3-2.
