The Minden Lady Tiders gave new head coach Maggie Watts her first victory Friday.
Minden defeated Simsboro 8-4 in the first game of the Minden Round Robin. It was the only game in the event Friday.
There are four games Saturday. Minden faces Parkway at 10 a.m. followed by Parkway vs. Simsboro at noon, Simsboro vs. Castor at 2 p.m. and Minden vs. Castor at 4.
The Glenbrook tournament started Friday. The host Lady Apaches defeated East Beauregard 12-1 in five innings. The tournament concludes Saturday with four games. East Beauregard plays Evangel Christian at 10 a.m. followed by Glenbrook vs. Converse at noon, Converse vs. East Beauregard at 2 p.m. and Glenbrook vs. Evangel at 4.
Elsewhere, Lakeside remained undefeated with a 14-1 rout of Beekman Charter in the Polar Bear tournament at ULM.
At Minden, the Lady Tiders (1-6) rallied from a 3-1 deficit through 3 1/2 innings with five runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Eight Minden players combined for 10 hits. Lindsey Ryan, Lizzie Balkom and Tatum Oliver had two hits apiece. Ryan and Balkom both had doubles.
Ryan pitched a four-hitter. She struck out 10 and walked three.
At Glenbrook, Rebecca Mosley pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks. Gabi Brown had three doubles and three RBI.
Savannah Mangrum and Hadley Haynes had two hits each. Hallie Harmon hit a two-run home run. Vivian Still had a triple and two RBI.
Glenbrook improved to 4-0.
At ULM, McKenna Chreene went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in the five-inning game. Emily Jones went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
Maggie Mandino went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Teal Austin had a double.
Moose Jernigan pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts and no walks.
Lakeside (6-0) faces Ouachita Christian at 11 a.m. and Hamburg, Ark., at 3.
