High school softball: Lakeside, Glenbrook keep perfect records intact; Minden gets win

The Lakeside Lady Warriors and Glenbrook Lady Apaches stayed unbeaten with victories Saturday.

Lakeside improved to 8-0 with a 7-0 victory over Ouachita Christian and an 18-3 victory over Hamburg, Ark., in the Polar Bear tournament at ULM.

Glenbrook improved to 6-0 with a 7-3 victory over Converse and a 9-4 victory over Evangel Christian in the Glenbrook tournament.

Elsewhere, the Minden Lady Tiders picked up their second victory of the season, defeating Castor 10-4 in the Minden Round Robin. Minden also fell to Parkway 6-4.

Lakeside’s McKenna Chreene pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and two walks against Ouachita Christian. She also had a double.

Meredith Robinson went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Rhea Waller had a double.

Chreene went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI against Hamburg. Emily Jones went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Robinson had a double and two RBI.

Ella Wood struck out five in the three-inning game.

Glenbrook’s Colby Hollis had two doubles against Converse. Chloe Gregg and Hadley Haynes both went 2-for-3.

Savannah Mangrum went all seven innings and struck out six.

Hollis went 3-for-4 with two RBI against Evangel. Rebecca Mosley pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts and only one walk.

Minden’s Leigha Kennon Gilbert went 3-for-4 against Castor. Lindsay Ryan went 2-for-3 with a double. Nola Lange went 2-for-3. Lizzie Balkom went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Charli Flournoy had a double.

Ryan went the distance and struck out five. Kennon Gilbert went 2-for-4 against Parkway. Ryan had eight strikeouts in five innings. Gracie Sparks didn’t allow a hit in two innings.
