GRAMBLING — Grambling State showcased a dominant performance against Alabama A&M (20-9 overall, 13-4 SWAC), earning a 77-65 win Thursday evening at the Frederick Hobdy Assembly Center behind strong shooting and rebounding efforts.

The Tigers maintained control for most of the game, leading for over 29 minutes and extending their advantage to as much as 19 points in the fourth quarter.

Kahia Warmsley led Grambling State (14-14 overall, 11-6 SWAC) with 22 points, shooting an efficient 9-of-15 from the field, including three three-pointers.

Douthsine Prien contributed 11 points and seven assists, while Lydia Freemanwas a force in the paint, securing her seventh double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Tigers ability to capitalize in the paint, outscoring Alabama A&M 48-30, proved to be a key factor in the victory.

Despite a late push from Alabama A&M, led by LaCambria Shakespeare’s efficient 6-point burst in the final moments, Grambling State’s defensive presence and balanced scoring held off any comeback attempt.

The Tigers 50% shooting from the field and dominant rebounding edge (43-28) highlighted their control of the game.
