Minden High Mental Health Club hosts umbrella drive for students

by Amber McDown

The Minden High Mental Health Club is collecting donations for its Umbrella Drive, a service project aimed at providing students in need with new backpack-size umbrellas for the rainy season.

Community members can contribute by dropping off umbrellas at a designated box located on Richardson Street outside the school’s entrance. Students may also bring donations to their first-period classes. In addition to physical donations, monetary contributions are being accepted to support the initiative.

The deadline for donations is March 21. Those seeking more information can contact Jamie Barnett or Angel Lee.

The Mental Health Club organized the drive to assist students who may not have access to umbrellas during inclement weather. Organizers hope the effort will ensure students remain dry and comfortable while traveling to and from school.
