by Minden Press-Herald

A Heflin woman was arrested Friday evening after allegedly stabbing a man in front of four children, according to law enforcement officials.

Heflin Police Chief Migues and a Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence in the 7100 block of Highway 531 at approximately 6:34 PM on March 14 after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers encountered Donyetta Strange, 36, in the front yard with blood on her shirt and a cut on her left thumb.

Strange told officers that the complainant had come over with the children for a visit when an altercation occurred. After being read her Miranda rights, Strange admitted to stabbing the complainant.

A deputy in Sibley located the victim, who had lacerations on the right side of his chest and lower right arm. The man told officers that his four children were present and witnessed the stabbing. He also stated that he took a blue knife from Strange after the attack. Strange confirmed the knife belonged to her. According to the victim, Strange said she was going to kill him during the attack.

Strange was taken into custody and booked on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and domestic abuse with child endangerment.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
