by Minden Press-Herald

A traffic stop on Interstate 20 early Tuesday led to the discovery of approximately 150 pounds of high-grade marijuana, according to the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the marijuana, with an estimated street value of $225,000, inside a travel trailer during the stop. Authorities arrested Joseph Alva Harper of Sylvania, Georgia, and charged him with possession of Schedule I narcotics (marijuana) with intent to distribute and possession of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of a firearm.

Harper was booked into the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. The investigation remains ongoing.
