The Glenbrook Apaches, Lakeside Warriors and North Webster Knights won non-district games Tuesday.
Glenbrook edged Family Community 3-2 at Glenbrook, Lakeside defeated Grant 11-8 at Lakeside and North Webster downed Beekman Charter 5-2 in Bastrop.
Elsewhere, Minden fell to North DeSoto 9-3 in the first of a two-game District 1-4A series in Stonewall, and Doyline lost to 2024 non-select Division V state champion Quitman 4-1 in a District 1-B game at Quitman.
At Glenbrook, the game was tied at 2 after seven innings. Jackson Waller’s leadoff home run in the bottom of the eighth gave the Apaches the victory.
Glenbrook started Ryan Reagan pitched six innings. He scattered seven hits with two strikeouts and no walks. Sam Ricord pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
The Apaches trailed 2-0 after five innings then tied it in the sixth. Leadoff batter Seth Mangrum drew a walk and advanced to third on a double by Waller. Dawson Day’s grounder resulted in an error and two runs scored.
Glenbrook (12-8) is scheduled to begin a three-game series against Cedar Creek Friday at home at 6. The series will decide the District 1-1A championship.
At Lakeside, the Warriors rallied from an 8-6 deficit after 5 1/2 innings with five runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Eric Jones, Peyton Gray and Brock Case had two hits apiece. Jones had a double. Case had three RBI.
Jon Jon Dick had a two-run triple in the sixth which broke an 8-8 tie. That came after Case drove in two runs to tie it. Jones’ doubled earlier in the inning. Dick finished with three RBI.
Starter Gage Williams went 3 1/3 innings. Eli Campbell pitched 1 1/3. Gray pitched the final 2 1/3.
Lakeside (14-12) is scheduled to begin a three-game District 3-2A series Thursday against Red River in Coushatta at 6.
At North DeSoto, Minden trailed 5-3 after five innings. The Griffins pulled away with four in the bottom of the sixth.
Landyn Huddleston went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Minden (14-11, 0-5) and North DeSoto (16-9, 2-3) are scheduled to complete the series Thursday at Minden at 6.
At Quitman, the Wolverines’ Zach Smudrick pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks.
Doyline’s Noah Spears also had a strong performance. He allowed two hits and no earned runs in six innings while striking out eight and walking only one. The Panthers hurt themselves with multiple errors.
Doyline (8-10, 0-2) is scheduled to host Southwood Saturday at 5. Quitman improved to 11-12 and 2-0.
At Beekman Charter, North Webster improved to 8-8. The Knights are scheduled to host Minden Friday at 4.
