The Lakeside Warriors defeated Red River 6-4 in the first of a three-game District 3-2A series Thursday in Coushatta.
In a District 1-4A game, Minden fell to North DeSoto 17-2 at Minden. In a District 1-B game, Doyline dropped a 13-12 heartbreaker to Castor at Castor.
At Red River, seven Warriors combined for nine hits. Jon Jon Dick went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Gage Williams had a hit and three RBI. He also drew walk. Brock Case had a hit and drew two walks.
The Warriors broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the top of the fifth. Dick led off with a single, stole second and scored on a groundout by Williams.
Dick tripled in the seventh and scored on a sacrifice fly by Williams. Dick also had a two-RBI single in Lakeside’s three-run third.
Peyton Gray pitched a complete game. He scattered eight hits, struck out two and walked one.
Lakeside (15-13, 6-3), which has won six in a row, and Red River (11-13, 3-6) are scheduled to complete the series with a doubleheader Friday at Lakeside at 5.
At Minden, the game was tied at 1 after three innings. But North DeSoto scored 10 runs on 10 hits in the top of the fourth. The Griffins added six more in the fifth and final inning.
Landon Brewer went 2-for-3 with a double. Jaxon Smith had a double.
Minden (14-12, 0-6) is scheduled to visit North Webster Friday at 6. North DeSoto improved to 17-9 and 3-3.
At Castor, the game was tied at 9 after five innings. Castor scored three in the bottom of the sixth. Doyline tied it with three in the top of the seventh. But the Tigers won it with a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Jonas Florence went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Dario Galvez went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kenneth Anderson had two RBI. James Dodge had a triple. Noah Spears had a double.
Doyline (8-11, 0-3) is scheduled to host Southwood Saturday at 5.
