The Glenbrook Apaches and Lakeside Lady Warriors both suffered one-run losses Monday.
Glenbrook fell to Airline 1-0 at Glenbrook. It was the Class 1A Lady Apaches’ second straight one-run loss to a team from District 1-5A.
Lakeside dropped a 10-9 decision in eight innings to Stanley at Stanley.
At Glenbrook, the game featured two outstanding pitching performances. Glenbrook’s Savannah Mangrum pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks. Airline’s Taylor Smith gave up four hits with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
Airline scored the game’s only run in the top of the fourth on a two-out single by Lindsey Marcinkus.
Glenbrook’s Hallie Harmon had a double. The Lady Apaches (21-8) host Family Community Thursday at 5.
At Stanley, Lakeside took a 9-8 lead with three runs in the top of the seventh. But Stanley’s Alyssa Gooden tied it with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the inning.
The Lady Warriors left two runners stranded in the top of the eighth. The Lady Panthers won it on a two-out double by Riley Palmer.
Lakeside’s Emily Jones smacked two solo home runs. Meredith Robinson went 2-for-4 with a home run. Robinson and Jones hit back-to-back homers in the seventh.
McKenna Chreene had two hits, including a double. Ella Wood had a double and two RBI. Moose Jernigan had a double.
Lakeside (21-5) hosts Caddo Magnet Tuesday at 5. Stanley improved to 19-6.
