Louisiana Fire & Emergency Training Academy receives international reaccreditation

by Minden Press-Herald

The International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) has reaccredited the Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy (FETA). This reaccreditation increases the number of courses recognized by IFSAC to 40, the most ever offered by this academy.

The IFSAC certification is recognized internationally for excellence in training so firefighters are able to receive the best of the best in fire training, right here Louisiana. The accreditation is made at the state, provincial, federal government, or territorial level for firefighter certification programs.

Accreditation is granted only after conducting an integral self-study, followed by a very in-depth, on-site review by a panel consisting of peer representatives from other member schools or institutions. IFSAC representatives conducted a site visit to FETA March 11-14, 2025, where they reviewed the academy’s policies, curriculum and test banks. The IFSAC seal that is earned by a student upon successful completion of a certification examination is the industry’s gold standard.

IFSAC reaccredits fire training schools every five years.
