Man charged with aggravated second-degree battery in stabbing incident

by Minden Press-Herald

A Minden man was arrested Friday night following a stabbing incident in the parking lot of a local discount store, according to police.

The Minden Police Department responded to a call around 9:32 PM on April 18 at the 1400 block of Shreveport Road, where officers found a stabbing victim who indicated the suspect had fled the scene.

Officers located a man emerging from a wooded area behind the store near the 300 block of Weston Street. After being ordered to the ground at gunpoint, the suspect, identified as Jaquario McGlothen, 35, of Minden, was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation revealed that McGlothen and the victim were involved in a physical altercation in the store’s parking lot. During the altercation, the victim sustained two stab wounds—one to the left arm and another to the left cheek.

Two Family Dollar employees witnessed the incident and reported that McGlothen was the predominant aggressor in the confrontation.

McGlothen was evaluated by emergency medical personnel for minor facial injuries but declined treatment. He was transported to the Minden Police Department for booking and later transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

He is charged with aggravated second-degree battery.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
