American Legion baseball: Bossier Phillies’ World Series opener rained out, rescheduled for Friday

The Bossier Phillies’ scheduled opener Thursday against Asheville, N.C., in the American League World Series in Shelby, N.C. was postponed because of rain.

The other three games on Day 1 were also wiped out. That has resulted in a revised schedule over the next three days.

Bossier is scheduled to play Asheville at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Greece, N.Y., at 9 a.m. Saturday and Chesapeake, Va., at 9 a.m. Sunday in Stripes pool play. 

The schedule remains the same for the semifinals Monday and the finals Tuesday.

The winner of the Stripes Division plays the runner-up in the Stars Division on Monday at 3.The Stripes runner-up plays the Stars winner at 6.

The winners face off for the title Tuesday at 6.
