Former Glenbrook star Jackson Waller helped the Bossier Phillies win their third straight American Legion Baseball Wednesday in Crowley.
Waller went 2-for-4 with an RBI as Bossier rallied past Crowley 4-3 in the championship round. The Phillies finished the tournament 5-0.
Bossier advances to the Mid-South Regional in Aug. 5-9 in Cherryville, N.C. The Phillies are the two-time defending champion.
Waller, who recently completed his freshman year at Nunez Community College, played a huge role in Bossier’s march to the state championship.
He went 9-of-21 with eight RBI. He hit for the tournament cycle with five singles, one double, one triple and one home run.
The Phillies’ first run of Wednesday’s game came on an RBI-single by Waller with one out in the first.
Bossier added another run. The score remained 2-0 until the fourth when Gauthier Amedee cut the deficit to one. Gauthier Amedee scored two in the bottom of the fifth to go up 3-2.
Waller started Bossier’s two-run rally in the sixth with a leadoff single.
He moved to third on groundouts by Griffin Sibley and Bradon Stephens. Landon Martin drew a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch.
Kannon Greer (2026 Benton graduate) then put the Phillies on top 4-3 with a single to center.
Benton rising senior Slade Stephens pitched a complete game for his second win of the tournament. He scattered seven hits, struck out four and walked two.
Bossier had eight hits, all singles. Martin, a 2026 Evangel graduate, went 2-for-2.
