At the Glenbrook Tournament, the Glenbrook Apaches defeated CHA Homeschool Academy, 15-0 behind Colt Wilson’s no-hitter. Wilson struck out four batters in the three hitless innings and the Apache bats carried them the rest of the way.
The Apaches followed that game with a semi-final pounding of rival Claiborne Academy behind another strong pitching performance, this time from Hayden Williams. He tossed four innings, giving up two runs, no hits, four walks and seven strikeouts. In the tournament championship, Glenbrook fell to UAC, 11-8.
The Apaches were done in by a bevy of walks and errors in this contest, but the weekend was a positive sign for a team in search of pitching depth. In four tournament games the Apaches recorded three no-hitters (Tyler Perryman, Colt Wilson, Hayden Williams).
Glenbrook exits their tournament with a record of 3-5 after an 0-3 start, a sign the young Apaches are beginning to find their stride.
Tuesday, the Apaches will take on Columbia Christian at home with first pitch slated for 4 p.m., pending the weather.
