Contribution will support scholarships for low-income students
AT&T awarded the Foundation for Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges (LCTC) with a $25,000 contribution to support scholarships for low-income students.
The contribution will provide scholarship assistance to low-income students attending institutions within the LCTC System. By helping offset educational expenses, the funding will support student success, strengthen workforce development efforts and expand access to career-focused training programs across Louisiana.
“Louisiana’s future depends on developing a skilled workforce that is prepared to meet the demands of a growing economy,” said State Senator Adam Bass. “Investments that help students access education and technical training create pathways to good-paying jobs while strengthening communities across our state.”
Every day, Louisiana’s community and technical colleges help students gain the skills and credentials that lead to meaningful careers and economic mobility,” said Richard Nelson, president of Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges. “This scholarship support will help more students overcome financial obstacles and stay focused on completing the education and training that can change the trajectory of their lives.”
“Access to education and workforce training can open doors to opportunity,” said AT&T Louisiana President David Aubrey. “We’re proud to support Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges’ efforts to help students gain the skills, credentials and confidence they need to pursue rewarding careers and strengthen Louisiana’s workforce.”
AT&T’s support of Louisiana Community and Technical Colleges is part of the company’s broader commitment to expanding opportunity, strengthening communities, and helping close gaps in access to education and technology across Louisiana and the region.
