Ben Bower named principal of Minden High School

by Amber McDown

The Webster Parish School Board (WPSB) has announced Ben Bower as the new principal of Minden High School, effective July 1.

“We are excited about the appointment of Mr. Ben Bower as our next principal at Minden High School,” said WPSB Superintendent Johnny Rowland. “He is passionate in his approach to serving all of our students there. Mr. Bower is a hard worker and is driven to continue to grow Minden High School in every aspect. It is easy to detect his love and pride for Minden High School as well as the City of Minden, which is imperative when it comes to meeting the demands in a position such as this. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming school year under his leadership.”

Bower has spent almost 20 years working in Webster Parish, serving as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal at both Webster Jr. High and Minden High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Southern Arkansas University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Louisiana Tech.

Bower replaces Dr. Rebecca Wilson, who is moving into the role of personnel director for WPSB.
