Betty Burns was born to the late Selma Burns and Ida Lee Graham Burns on Feb. 19, 1939 in Claiborne Parish. She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and united with the Pine Grove Baptist Church where she faithfully served until death.

Sis. Betty Burns departed this earthly life on April 28, 2016 at Town & Country Health and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willie Clyde Burns; two infant siblings; and a sister-in-law, Louidell Burns; and aunt, Ida Mae Graham Milner.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sisters, Dorothy Henderson (John) of Inglewood, California and Catherine Smith (Samuel) of Houston; a special nephew, Brian Keith Burns and wife, Tammy; special great niece, Tabriya Burns; nephews, John Henderson Jr., Kenneth Anthony Wright, and Danny Preston Wright; a niece, Gail R. Wright; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The celebration of life services for Sis. Betty Jean Burns will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Russell officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 6 in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to [email protected].
