A status report on the growing problem of giant salvinia on Lake Bistineau will be provided by the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at 10:15 a.m., Thursday when the Bistineau Task Force meets in the police jury room on the second floor of the Webster Parish courthouse.
Ways the BTF can support the fight against giant salvinia in 2015 will be one of the topics discussed, and the public is highly encouraged to attend and share their comments.
The Bistineau Task Force is a product of the cooperative agreement between Bienville, Bossier and Webster Parish police juries and Trailblazer Resource, Conservation, and Development (RC&D) to combat the spread and domination of the invasive giant salvinia in Lake Bistineau.
