The 4th Annual “Black” to School Toiletry Drive will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at 3Jays Tax Office. The drive aims to provide students with essential hygiene products to help boost confidence and support a positive school experience.
Organized with a focus on the specific needs of young black men and women, the drive seeks donations of items such as hair gel, lotion, deodorant, brushes, combs, toothbrushes, natural hair products, and sunscreen designed for melanated skin.
Over the past several years, donations have been distributed to schools in both Minden and the northern end of Webster Parish based on individual school needs. The organizer, Tayler Banks, maintains communication with all schools in the area to ensure timely restocking and support when needed.
“It has been a blessing to be able to give back to the community that has given so much to me, and I appreciate the outpouring of support each year,” Banks said. “The youth population has a special place in my heart as that age plays such a huge role in development. Factors such as confidence and self-esteem matter so much in young people as they can easily make or break you as an individual still learning the ins and outs of life.”
Those interested in contributing may drop off items at the drive or send monetary donations via Cash App to $taybanks022. For more information, contact Tayler Banks at 318-617-3737.
