Brief Biography: On March 16, 1948, Bobbie Gean Anderson was born to Louie Anderson and Clara Harvey Anderson in Minden, Louisiana. In her formative years, she joined New Light Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend N. S. Coleman.
She was a faithful member of New Light Baptist Church for over 65 years. She served on the Usher Board ministry and was a Deaconess. Bobbie chaired several ministries and attended our local State and National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Inc.
In 1966, she graduated from Webster High School in Minden, Louisiana. She then entered Southern University and majored in Business. She later attended Grambling, Louisiana Tech, and Northeast Universities. She received her certification from Draughon/Norton Business School.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Charley Anderson for over 30 years. Bobbie lived in Oakland, CA for two years and worked at the United States Post Office. She returned to Minden and worked as a Receptionist for the City of Minden. When her mother passed, she took over the family business and managed Clark’s Taxi Service. She was good with numbers and became the Auditor for the Webster Parish Tax Assessor’s office. She retired with approximately 20-plus years of dedicated service. Bobbie was an avid shopper, loved to travel, and was a great cook.
