Funeral services will be held for Mr. Bobby R. Hollenshead, 82, at Ruple Baptist Church in Homer on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Benjamin Wood and the Rev. Jerry Gill, officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Mr. Hollenshead was born Dec. 15, 1933 in Claiborne Parish to Chester A. and Velma Beavers Hollenshead. He entered into rest on Monday, March 14, 2016 in Shreveport. Mr. Hollenshead served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Claiborne Parish School Board as a bus driver with over 30 years of service. Mr. Hollenshead was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved the Lord.

Mr. Hollenshead was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael R. Hollenshead; and granddaughter, Shanda R. Koehler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Geneva Andrews Hollenshead; two daughters, Marilyn Jernigan and husband Larry of Minden and Cindy Hollenshead of Haynesville; a daughter-in-law Diane Hollenshead; two sisters-in-law Miriam Hollenshead of Haynesville and Jerry Hollenshead of Homer; four grandchildren, Wendi A. Wood and husband Benjamin, John M. Acklen and wife Amy, Kimberly Binder and husband Roman and Kevin Jernigan and wife Jessica; 15 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ken Karl, David Hollenshead, Richard Heard, Dennie Chance, Edwin Hollenshead and Bill Hollenshead.

Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Milam and the Sunday School Class of Ruple Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Hollenshead, his family suggests memorials be made to Lebanon Cemetery.
