Bossier Parish Police Jury Approves Asphalt Donation to Camp Minden for Archery Competition

by Minden Press-Herald

At the latest Bossier Parish Police Jury meeting, a significant decision was made to donate 60 loads of Asphalt Millings to Camp Minden for the Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Competition scheduled for April. The jury members unanimously approved the motion, highlighting the potential economic impact it could bring to Northwest Louisiana.

District 1 representative Bob Brotherton expressed optimism about the tournament’s potential impact on the local economy, stating, “We signed a 10-year agreement with ASA to host the tournament here, and everything is going well so far. It is estimated that the tournament will attract over 1,650 shooters, their families, and vendors, who will stay in our hotels, dine in our restaurants, and shop in our stores.” The donation is expected to provide essential support for hosting the event and could lead to a boost of up to $25 million over the 10-year ASA contract period.
