Benton – On January 21, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a train on Louisiana Highway 3 near Kingston Road. The crash claimed the life of 40-year-old Timothy Jordan of Bossier City.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Jordan was on duty and operating his department-issued, fully marked 2019 Dodge Charger while conducting stationary enforcement when his vehicle was struck by a train. The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.

Jordan was unrestrained at the time of the crash and sustained severe injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis.
