Buzz Buy hosts successful food drive

by Minden Press-Herald

The Buzz Buy #24 convenience store and TBHC Delivers, the largest distributor of Hunt Brothers Pizza, partnered together this month along with Joe LeBlanc Food Bank to help the hungry in Minden by accepting canned good donations in the store.

One in five children in the U.S. are food insecure, according to Feeding America. Many of those children live right here in Minden. That is why Buzz Buy #24, TBHC Delivers and the Joe LeBlanc Food Bank joined together to help feed local families in need.

The food drive took place at Buzz Buy #24 from July 6 through 20. Visitors to the store brought in non-perishable food items or purchased them in-store and dropped them in the donation box at checkout. In exchange, the store and TBHC Delivers provided them with a coupon for one free hunk of Hunt Brothers Pizza upon their next visit to the store.

Buzz Buy #24 worked with the Joe LeBlanc Food Bank to coordinate the drive and have the donated food delivered to local children and families who struggle with hunger.

This food drive is part of a nationwide initiative by TBHC Delivers called Provide, which strives to offer basic life necessities to those in need.
