Melanie Campbell, a special education teacher at North Webster Upper Elementary, was recognized as Employee of the Month for April during the Webster Parish School Board’s regular meeting held Tuesday, April 14.
The award was presented by Kevin Thompson of Taylor and Sons.
Campbell, who has 24 years of service in the school system, has spent 22 years in the classroom and is now in her second year as a special education educator.
In a letter of recommendation, Campbell was praised for her dedication and impact on students and colleagues.
“With 24 years of dedicated service to our school system, Melanie has poured her heart into education, spending 22 years in the classroom and now flourishing in her second year as a special education educator,” the letter stated. “Her passion for students and commitment to excellence are evident in everything that she does.”
The letter described Campbell as “the kind of employee every school hopes to have,” noting her selfless and dependable nature.
“She is selfless, dependable, and always willing to help no matter the situation,” the letter stated. “She supports her coworkers, advocates fiercely for her students, and brings a calm positive presence to our campus each day.”
Campbell’s leadership and character were also highlighted.
“Her experience in leadership uplifts those around her and makes our school a better place,” the letter stated. “Above all, Melanie leads with compassion and integrity. She is a true role model for anyone entering the education field and exemplifies the values of the Webster Parish School Board.”
The letter concluded by stating Campbell is a deserving recipient of the recognition and a valued member of the school community.
Taylor and Sons presents the Employee of the Month awards at each regular school board meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for May 4. The public is welcome to attend.
