Jack Poole passed away unexpectedly after a brief battle with colon cancer on April 5 at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, at the age of 78.

He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Poole Brown, his son Russell Poole, both of Minden, and his stepdaughter Charity Thomson of Mansfield, Texas; and his grandchildren Charles Michael Brown and Carlos Jacob Poole, both of Minden and Sadie Victoria Thomson of Mansfield.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1937 in LaPile, Arkansas, to James Frederick Poole, and Elizabeth Jackson Poole. He graduated from Crossett High School in 1955. He worked in the natural gas industry most of his career, and retired from Arkla Gas in 1992. He has been married four times, but was currently dating his soul mate, Dianne Webb of Haughton.

He was an accomplished carpenter, gardener, cook, and ravenous reader. He was a giving individual who loved helping family and friends in need. He loved to travel, and counted Costa Rica, south Louisiana, and Surfside Beach, Texas, as his favorite destinations.

A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, April 10th at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, with a visitation from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on the same day. Pastor Leland Crawford will deliver the eulogy. All are welcome to celebrate the life of Jack Poole. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeff Bernard, Dr. Steve Boniol and the hospital staff of Christus Highland Hospital for their compassion and care.
