City of Minden and Chamber of Commerce call for community cleanup participation

by Minden Press-Herald

The City of Minden, in partnership with the Greater Minden Chamber of Commerce and Webster Parish Tourism, is inviting businesses, community organizations, schools, and individuals to join hands in a community cleanup effort.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 20, following the Scottish Tartan Festival from 5 PM to 8 PM, and again on Thursday, April 25, from 8 AM to 1 PM, the cleanup aims to beautify the community and foster a sense of pride among residents.

Participants will be treated to an after-party and awards ceremony at 2 PM on April 25 at Miller Quarters Park, where there will be music, games, food, and fun. Awards will be presented for the Most Spirited Team, Largest Team, and Most Litter Collected.

Businesses or organizations with projects needing completion can request assistance by emailing [email protected] with a project description. While businesses are responsible for purchasing/providing materials, the cleanup organizers can help provide the labor.

Participating in Love the Boot Week is an opportunity to raise awareness about Louisiana’s litter problem and promote litter prevention. “Let’s work together this April to make Louisiana a cleaner, more beautiful place to live, work, and play,” said event organizers.
