A series of Easter-themed events, egg hunts, and fundraisers are scheduled in Minden in the coming weeks, offering families a variety of ways to celebrate the holiday.
Festivities begin Saturday, March 28, when North Acres Baptist Church will host a free Easter Eggstravaganza from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at its campus on Lewisville Road. The event will include egg hunts, food, bounce houses, and live music.
On Sunday, March 29, Minden High School partners with the Young Women’s Service Club of Minden to host a community egg hunt at W.W. Williams Stadium. The event is set to begin at 2 PM and is open to families, children, and community leaders.
Additional events are planned the following weekend. Beech Springs Baptist Church will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4, from 3 PM to 5 PM at its location on Highway 80. The egg hunt is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM, and the event will also include hot dogs, cakes, and games.
A non-traditional option is also available through Serenity Spa and Nails, which is hosting an Easter promotion from March 23 through April 5. Customers who spend $50 or more can select a mystery egg containing a prize.
In addition to public events, several organizations are offering at-home egg hunt services as fundraisers. Lakeside Varsity Cheer is organizing an “Egg Your Yard” service, in which participants can sign up to have eggs hidden in their yard overnight. Spots are limited, and registration is open through April 1.
Miss Minden Sadie Brown is also offering a similar “Egg Your Yard” fundraiser. According to promotional materials, “Make Easter easy this year and let our bunny do the work for you!” Each participating home will receive a delivery that includes a special golden egg, with additional options available. Proceeds from the effort will be donated to the American Heart Association, with an option for direct contributions.
Organizers across the community encourage early participation and registration, noting that several events and services have limited availability. Easter will fall on Sunday, April 5 this year.
