The Webster Parish Council on Aging will host a Veterans Meet and Greet on Friday, March 13, inviting veterans from across Webster Parish to gather for fellowship, information, and recognition of their service.
The event will take place from 10:45 AM to 12 PM and will begin with a complimentary lunch served at 10:45 AM. Dessert and a meet and greet will follow with veterans and representatives from the Webster Parish Veteran’s Safety Net Coalition.
Organizers said the event is open to veterans who participate in Council on Aging programs as well as any veterans living in Webster Parish.
“We want to take this opportunity to provide a safe and welcoming environment here, for our veterans throughout Webster Parish,” Karen Guice, outreach coordinator for the Council on Aging.
The gathering is intended to encourage, support, and empower local veterans while providing them with knowledge and educational resources.
“We want to encourage, support and empower our Veterans providing knowledge and education for them,” said Guice. “We want to promote dignity, independence, and hope.”
The Council on Aging also expressed appreciation for the service of local veterans.
“We are so grateful for all of our Veterans and want to recognize and show them our appreciation!”
Veterans planning to attend are asked to call the Council on Aging office in advance so organizers can prepare enough meals. Reservations can be made by calling 318-371-3056.
