Councilman Wayne Edwards speaks on Oregon mass shooting

by Minden Press-Herald

Thursday Oct. 1, 2015, we had another senseless killing at Umpqua Community College located in Roseburg, Oregon.

Ten innocent victims were gunned down. This mass shooting is the 45th in the United States in the past 247 days of 2015. When our society experiences such tragedy we truly need to examine what we can do to help prevent such violence and why it’s important to us. Again, I offer prayers and sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. I offer concern and prayer to those who were injured and to their families and loved ones.

We as citizens recognize that as Americans and as unimaginable and unforeseeable action of those events we have a serious problem.
