McClanahan Park was filled with laughter, games, and community spirit on the evening of August 9 as the Village of Dixie Inn hosted its back-to-school bash alongside the park’s grand reopening celebration.
The event drew a large crowd, including children, families, community members, and elected officials. Attendees enjoyed free hot dogs, snow cones, and other refreshments, while children played on a slip-n-slide and bouncy house and participated in various games. School supply goodie bags and Bibles were also distributed.
The celebration also highlighted recent park improvements, including a new public restroom and covered areas, upgrades that officials say will benefit the neighborhood for years to come.
Organizers described the event as a chance to celebrate both the community and the enhancements to McClanahan Park, which has been a fixture in Dixie Inn since the 1940s.
