Don Stahl Memorial Tournament begins Tuesday

The 21st annual Don Stahl Memorial Tournament begins tonight at Lakeside High School.

The tournament has provided some wildly entertaining games in the past with this year’s tournament likely to continue that trend.

“There are a lot of good matchups,” Lakeside head coach Jason Gould said. “On the boys’ side, Minden and Evangel will be a tough game. Byrd is the most noted team in the tournament. Then, you have a regional rivalry with Doyline and Haughton.”

Gould said the girls bracket is just as loaded.

“Haughton is really well coached,” Gould said. “Minden girls looked really good in the jamboree and our girls are improving everyday. Hopefully they have a chance to get to there.”
