by Minden Press-Herald

The Percy Burns Road Bridge will get a much-needed repair soon. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that 13 projects around the state were let on March 14. Thirteen contractors presented bids totaling $15.4 million.

The bid for Percy Burns Road Bridge over Little Crooked Creek came in at $773,089.23.

“As part of DOTD’s accountability to the citizens of Louisiana, we must use the resources at our disposal for maintaining and improving the state’s infrastructure,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “As always, we will continue to do our best to improve transportation throughout the state with the funding that we currently have.”

Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
