by Minden Press-Herald

DOYLINE – The Doyline Panthers entered Friday night at 1-1 in district play, knowing a win over Quitman would put them in position to compete for the district crown.

The Panthers executed well and the result was a good one, 71-56 in favor of Doyline.

“We started off down 12-0,” Doyline head coach Michael Normand said. “We increased the tempo with some pressure and it paid off for us.”

The Panthers trailed 31-28 at halftime before wearing out Quitman in the second half.

Jatavion Jackson led Doyline with 26 points, followed by Desmond Jackson with 17 points, Xavieon Jackson with 14 points and Tyreck Wilson with 12 points.
