CASTOR – The Doyline Panthers went on the road and picked up a district win, 71-53 over Castor.
“We turned the game around in the second quarter,” Doyline head coach Michael Normand said. “Our center, Xavieon Jackson was out because of sickness, so we turned up the pressure and speed.”Doyline turned a 18-11 second quarter deficit into an 18-point blowout win by the time it was over, and the Panthers moved to 1-1 in district play.
“Even though we came out sluggish, I’m pleased with how we got into our flow in that second quarter,” Normand said.
Desmond Jackson led Doyline with 23 points, followed by Jatavion Jackson with 15 points and Tyreck Wilson with 15 points also.
Doyline takes on Quitman at home Friday night.
