Doyline man arrested, accused of hitting girlfriend

An argument in Doyline turned physical, leading to the arrest of a Doyline man.

Justin Lynn Rowell, 27, of the 100 block of Avalon Shores, was arrested Sunday, June 14, and charged with domestic abuse battery, simple assault and contempt of court for simple criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $14,000

According to reports, Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Avalon Shores residence in reference to a domestic disturbance. Lt. Robert Booth and Capt. Robert Hayden responded to the call and made contact with the victim who told the deputies her boyfriend, identified as Rowell, struck her during an argument.

By the time law enforcement arrived on scene, Rowell reportedly had left the residence. Police searched the Doyline area to no avail. Later that
day, deputies were dispatched back to the residence and made contact with Rowell, according to reports.

He was taken into custody on two warrants issued by the sheriff’s office and the domestic abuse battery charge.

He was transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for booking.
