DOYLINE — A Doyline man found himself under arrest charged with driving while intoxicated after he failed a set of field sobriety tests.
Pedro Valle, 37, of the 400 block of Strong Street in Doyline, was arrested Saturday, May 30, and charged with driving while intoxicated, open container and improper lane usage. Bond was set at $1,550.
According to reports, Deputies Coby Barton and John Lewis Jr. stopped Valle on College Street in Doyline after observing him driving in the wrong lane.
When the deputies made contact with Valle, he was asked if he’d been drinking, to which he reportedly told them he’d had three of four beers and had an open container inside the vehicle.
Lewis says in reports he smelled a “moderate” odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle and he appeared to be intoxicated. Valle submitted to a field sobriety test and performed poorly.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Webster Parish Courthouse for a breath test. Reports indicate the results showed his blood alcohol level at .133, above the legal limit. The legal limit is .08.
He was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for booking.
