Eddie Louis Starr passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at his home in Shongaloo, Louisiana. He was 68 years old. He succumbed to complications from diabetes and COVID. 

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred David and Leona Carnelle Harvey Starr; two 1st cousins-once-removed, Andrew Blaine Carver and Cory Endicott Carver, and their mothers, Patricia Bandy Carver and Linda Endicott Carver. He is survived by his brother and only sibling, David D. Starr; two special 1st cousins, brothers Bill Carver and Glenn Carver; a uncle, Travis Starr; two nephews, Alex Starr and Carl Starr; three grand-nieces; three great-grand-nieces and a great-grand-nephew; And, former step-daughter and ward, Mary Paula Myers; and former ward Trey Myers.

Eddie graduated from Springhill High School in 1971. He worked for nearly 20 years in the building trade as a brick mason reaching Master grade before having to retire due to spinal issues common among bricklayers. He retired from International Paper Company’s Box Plant in Springhill, LA. Eddie was an avid bird hunter from his early teens, and collected pocket watches and guns for most of his adult life which meant attending gun and antique shows hundreds of miles from his home.

Due to the continuing COVID pandemic no public services are planned at this time. A donation to any charity in his name will be very much appreciate by his kinfolk.
