Funeral services celebrating the life of Edna Ruth Salter will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Barry Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at Rose-Neath prior to the service time.
Edna Ruth was born April 13, 1938, in Dubberly, Louisiana and entered into rest June 8, 2023, in Minden, Louisiana. She was a member of Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church. Edna Ruth worked for South Central Bell Telephone Company and Robertson Shoe Store. One of her greatest pleasures, which she loved, was traveling in the R.V. Edna Ruth was a sweet lady and loved by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Beatrice Turner; husband, Robert Earl Salter; son, Robert Steven Salter; and brother, Harold Turner.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ashley and husband Mike; sisters-in-law, Mattie Turner and Shirley Turner; grandchildren, Clay Ashley, Brandon Waters, and Christina Johnson; great-grandchildren, Abbie, Adeline, and Anderson Ashley, and Braydan, Jace, and Brogan Waters; nephews, Jimmy Turner, Damon Chandler and Paul Chandler; and nieces, Rose- Butler and Kristie May.
Pallbearers will be Damon Chandler, Paul Chandler, Robert Smart, Keith Smart, Ray Bell, and Charlie Chandler.
