The Epsilon Rho Chapter of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa presented a fashion show entitled “The 4 Elements in Motion” on June 1 at the Minden Community House. The event featured models of all ages showcasing fashionable outfits ranging from casual to special occasion, each themed around the four elements and seasons.
The show was emceed by Sonia Holiday and featured special guest Shammia Williams, the former Miss Wiley College. A highlight of the evening was a reading of Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman” by the Epsilon Rho Chapter Xinos.
“The 4 Elements” served as a fundraiser for the Epsilon Rho Chapter’s Perpetual Scholarship. Another fundraising event is planned for Juneteenth. “I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. Epsilon Rho Chapter Gala Scholarship Fundraiser tonight,” said Holiday. She extended her gratitude to the sponsors, participants, and everyone who contributed to the show’s success.
The Perpetual Scholarship Foundation provides financial support to the scholarship program of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated. Annually, the Foundation donates funds to the Sorority’s general treasury, specifically for educational scholarships for high school students and female college students aspiring to become teachers. It also offers scholarships to Sorority members pursuing doctoral degrees.
The Foundation relies on contributions from individual members, chapters, and affiliate groups of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated. Donations of any amount are welcomed to support the mission of providing educational scholarships.
With another fundraising event on the horizon, the Epsilon Rho Chapter continues to work towards its goal of supporting education and empowering the next generation.
