One of two sisters was arrested for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment after officers responded to a reported fight at a residence on Hackett Drive on February 24.
According to Minden police, officers arrived at the scene and spoke with Jnai Warren and her younger sister, who stated a physical altercation had taken place prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Three juveniles (including the younger sister), ages 16, 16, and 7, were present in the home during the incident.
The dispute reportedly began when Jnai took her sister’s phone for an unconfirmed reason. The sister attempted to retrieve it, at which point Jnai allegedly struck her. A fight then broke out between the two.
Jnai stated that her sister “bumped her” while holding her phone, leading Jnai to shove her away and retreat to the kitchen. The sister then allegedly grabbed a shower curtain rod, followed Jnai, and struck her with it, escalating the altercation. Officers observed broken glass, hair, blood, and broken fingernails on the floor of the kitchen.
The sister later admitted to hitting Jnai with the shower curtain rod. Both individuals sustained injuries, including bleeding from broken fingernails.
The sister, 16, was released into the custody of her mother, while Jnai, 21, was transported to BDCC. She was charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.
