Just a note–Hiram King Williams wasn’t actually small in stature, although he was very thin due to poor eating habits (rooted in his illnesses). He was 6′ tall as an adult.
Why do people persist in saying that Hank Williams’ full name was “Hiram King Williams”? It was not! The “King” part as NEVER a part of Hank’s name. His birth certificate clearly shows his name as simply. Hiram Williams.
His father misspelled his name as “Hiriam”, and that’s what is actually on the birth certificate, but “King is nowhere to be seen. A little research would uncover this.
Goerge William Koon’s book, Hank Williams, So Lonesome, has a facsimile copy of Hank’s birth certificate. It’s there for all to see, and there is no King mentioned anywhere. If you are going to write about Hank Williams, at least get his name right!

So looking forward to this movie. Tom is such a fantastic actor.<3 Hankies at the ready.:-(
So excited to see this film! Our gull Maddie Hasson is going to be a huge star and this film is helping her to get there!
Cannot wait to see this film and all 6.1 of the actor playing him
I really hope this crew gets it right. The horrible bio pic from 1964 sure did gloss over any actual FACTS regarding the subject. I highly recommend Colin Escott’s biography on Hank if you want to know more about Hank. I saw one used for less than $4 on Amazon. There is also a picture book that came out featuring all of the rare photos Colin Escott uncovered while doing research that is a good companion book to have. http://www.amazon.com/Hank-Williams-Biography-Colin-Escott/dp/0316734977 The picture book is called “Snaphsots From The Lost Highway” http://www.amazon.com/Hank-Williams-Snapshots-From-Highway/dp/0306811766
