Former employee arrested after Dollar General disturbance

by Minden Press-Herald

A former Dollar General employee was arrested Sunday after reportedly pushing the store’s manager during a disturbance at the Homer Road location.

According to the Minden Police Department, officers responded to the store on November 9 in reference to an altercation between an ex-employee and the manager.

The manager told officers that the former employee, identified as 27-year-old Delle Harris, came into the store and knocked on her office door. The manager said she was in the nearby restroom when Harris arrived. When she exited the restroom, Harris allegedly knocked the manager’s phone from her hand and pushed her in the stomach.

The manager told officers she was concerned for her safety. She said Harris left the store after being told police were being called.

After obtaining a written statement and complaint affidavit from the manager, officers went to Harris’ residence in the 200 block of Pecanview Street. When she arrived, officers read her Miranda rights and asked about the incident. Harris reportedly gave a similar account but with some differences, police said.

Harris was arrested and booked at the Minden Police Department on a charge of simple battery. She was also verbally trespassed from the Dollar General by management.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
