Glenbrook Apaches speed to State

As the school year nears it’s conclusion, the Glenbrook Apache track team continues to turn heads, this time at the South State Track Meet.

The Apaches turned in a number of impressive times and qualified several runners and relay teams for the State Track Meet this weekend in Jackson, Mississippi.

In the boys events, it was sophomore Da’Maza Robinson who made the biggest waves at South State.

Robinson, running in three races, qualified for state in every event he ran.

Robinson won the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash, separating himself from the field.

He also placed third in the 100-meter dash, qualifying him for all three events at State next weekend.

Cade Clemons placed fourth in the 1600-meter run which also qualified him for State. The 4×400 relay team qualified also. Members of the relay team are Marshall Meek, Cody Chase, Beau Branch, and Damaza Robinson.

Glenbrook also qualified for State in several girls running events.

The girls 4×400 relay team of Gracie Milam, Makayla Booth, Alyssa Martin and Coco Stanley finished third with a time of 4:47.63.

Amelia Christy ran away with the 800-meter dash and 1600-meter dash South State titles, winning both events with ease. Christy ran the 800 in 2:40.80 and won the 1600 with a time of 6:04.27.

Emma Pitman also qualified for State in the 1600-meter dash by finishing fourth with a time of 6:37.74. Pitman will also run at State in the 3200 after finishing third with a time of 14:28.78.
