Hearts & Halos: Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness brought families together Saturday, June 27, for its Daddies With Angels Cookout at Miller Quarters Park.
The free community gathering honored fathers and families affected by pregnancy or infant loss while providing an opportunity to connect in a supportive environment. Attendees enjoyed hamburgers, snow cones, music, games, and fellowship throughout the afternoon.

The cookout is one of several events hosted by Hearts & Halos to provide encouragement and resources for families navigating grief. Founder Neisa Murray said building those connections is at the heart of the organization’s mission.
“Being able to connect with those families, offer support, and let them know they’re not alone is exactly why we keep our mission going,” Murray said.
Hearts & Halos will continue its outreach later this year with the 2nd Annual Angel Baby Fun Run, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, and the Halo Tree Ornament Workshop on Saturday, December 12. The organization also plans to continue offering virtual support opportunities and other events throughout the year.
Murray said Hearts & Halos welcomes volunteers, sponsors, and community members who would like to support its efforts to serve families affected by pregnancy and infant loss.
